SUMMARY:Home-Base Career Guidance
DESCRIPTION:Want to make a difference in a young person’s life? \nYoung people across the city are struggling to make study and career choices\, and those from orphaned or vulnerable backgrounds typically have gaps in their learning\, making their career choices limited. \nOn 29 November\, Home-Base will be presenting a Career Guidance Workshop where we will be inviting local children’s homes from across Gauteng to attend. We are blessed with the help of an Organisational Psychologist. At this workshop\, we will do basic career assessments with each learner and expose them to a range of career options and study options. Our aim is to help them see their worth\, to give them hope for the future and provide first steps on this journey. \n  \nWe are looking for volunteers across the career spectrum to share about their careers or to help with the assessments on the day. DESCRIPTION:There is an estimated 793 million people suffering from chronic hunger around the world. This translates into 1 in 10 people in the world suffering from a severe lack of food. These numbers do not speak about people who are “just hungry”. \nAs a church\, we have a number of projects and people who are working hard to address this and there are many more who would want to get involved. To this end\, we will be hosting a Food Think Tank in October where we will consider various initiatives and projects to see if we can find more synergy in our efforts and whether we can pool individual resources together to have a greater impact in our community. \nSaturday 15 October \n10:00 to 12:30 \nConference Room \nRegister here. \nquintonp@enjhb.org
